About Entropy

Most AI projects fail not because of the technology — but because the solution doesn't fit the organisation. Anyone can try an AI model on the internet today. But AI that actually helps has to work with your data, on your systems, and for your processes.

The AI has to adapt. Not you.

Entropy is me — Dr. Bastian Entrup. I hold a doctorate in computational linguistics with a focus on machine learning, and then spent over ten years at an internationally operating software and consulting group — working for large banks, insurance companies, and banking supervisory authorities across Europe: digitalising processes, building AI systems, leading programmes, and serving as lead architect.

I come from a family with many self-employed people and I can see that this AI revolution hasn't yet reached the Mittelstand — even though it's been entirely feasible for some time. What used to require months of development time and a budget of several hundred thousand euros can now be realised in a matter of weeks. The knowledge I built up in large corporations, I'm now bringing to the Mittelstand.

The name says it all: in information theory, entropy stands for complexity and information density. Your data contains more knowledge than you realise — and I want to help you unlock it.

The server is located in Germany. Processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the secure and stable operation of the website).

Server Log Files

When you visit the website your browser automatically transmits technical information (IP address, date/time, page requested, browser type). This data is stored in server log files and automatically deleted after no more than 7 days. It is not merged with other data sources.

3. Contact Form

When you write to us via the contact form, your details (name, e-mail address, message text) are processed and stored to handle your enquiry.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to enquiries).

The data is not passed on to third parties and is deleted once the enquiry has been dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations apply.

4. Web Analytics with Matomo

This website uses Matomo to analyse user behaviour. Matomo is self-hosted on our own server (matomo.entropy-zero.de) — your data never leaves Germany.

Matomo is only activated with your express consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Anonymised usage statistics are collected (e.g. pages visited, time on site). Your IP address is fully anonymised before storage.

You can withdraw your consent at any time by clicking "Settings" in the cookie banner below and disabling analytics cookies.

5. Google Ads & Consent Mode v2

This website uses Google Ads (Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA) to serve and measure advertising (conversion tracking). Measurement ID: AW-18089219844.

We use Google Consent Mode v2: without your consent no personal data is transmitted to Google. Marketing cookies are blocked by default and are only set after your active agreement.

If consent is given, data may be transferred to the USA. The transfer is based on Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR in conjunction with the EU Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR).

6. Cloudflare Turnstile (Spam Protection)

To protect our contact forms from automated spam (bots) we use Cloudflare Turnstile by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA.

When a page with a contact form is loaded, Turnstile transmits technical signals from your browser (including IP address, user agent, screen size, interaction patterns) to Cloudflare to determine whether the visitor is human. No cookies are set.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the security of our website).

Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Data transfers to the USA are made on this basis and additionally on the basis of the EU Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR).

7. Cookies & Consent Management

This website uses its own consent management system. Your consent decision is stored in your browser's local storage — no cookie is used for this purpose.

Technically Necessary Cookies

The contact form does not set cookies. Technically necessary cookies (e.g. session security) are set on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR and do not require consent.
